We
didnt win the tournament, but i still think it has been an achievement
as our team have only been established for 9 months and many of
the other teams have been together for a few years. Im sure we will
get better and hopefully we can play more matches next season.
Overall it has been a very good season with many matches organised
and many new contacts made which will be good in the future. They
will be plans for another tournament next season and hopefully we
can also participate in other tournaments which are hosted by other
teams. Perhaps a league could be formed between some of the local
teams but alot more planning would need to be done for that.
Hope everyone have a great summer and looking forward in playing
again with you guys soon.
UK Chinese Tournament 2008
April 03, 2008
Brighton
travelled all the way to Watford and competed in the annual UK chinese
7 aside tournament. The weather was perfect and what a day it turned
out to be. It was the first time for most of the squad members and many
didn't really know what to expect.
After a couple of tough group stage matches, we progressed
into the quarter finals. This was a much harder game then expected but
the team managed to pull through and won on penalties. The semi final
was an even harder encounter, but the team stuck with the game plan
and overcame Manchester 1-0 to reach the final. Everyone played there
part and by now very tired, still everyone gave their all although finished
with a 1-0 defeat, we are and can be all proud with our efforts and
acheivements.

Brighton Score 9 pass Brunel
Brighton
outplayed and thrashed Brunel 9-1 in their third match of the season.
It was a good win due to the fact that it was BCFTs first game for
3 months. Brighton dominated the game straight from the kick off
with a couple of opportunities which flashed wide of the far post.
It was always just a matter of time before the first goal went in
and it came through Brighton's number 8, Vito. Gary Cheung nutmegged
Brunels right fullback reached the byline and pulled it back for
Vito Wong to slot home from 6 yards out to make it 1-0. The second
came courtesy of some individual brilliance from David, who won
the ball in midfield and struck the ball nicely to the bottom left
hand corner which came in off the post which gave the keeper no
chance. Soon after Gary Cheung made it 3-0 with a lovely chip from
20 yards out which left the keeper stranded. Arguebly the best move
and goal of the afternoon was Vitos second. He brought the ball
forward into the opponents half, played it into Gary Cheung, he
took it down neatly and played it through, back into Vito's path
who carried on with his run and his instant shot went straight pass
the goalkeeper into the net, great move!
The second period was much the same story, Brighton controlling
all areas even after making wholesome changes. Brunel did manage
to pull a goal back but Anran, Michael, Alex, Jacky
and Ming all got on the scoresheet as well, meaning an emphatic
victory for the southern side.
